Interesting that you say that Bill.........I just looked at some old slides of my Rovers back in the 70's and my fathers 3500S..........Low and behold his 3500S has black c pillars..........So in the interest of debate.........I'll suggest that these pillars if not a direct factory option,  were maybe a dealer installed item............Dads car was new (OLD ,being a 1971 that he bought new in 72) from the dealer
