Hi there!

It can be tricky to get it tight. I clean the rubber with white spirit to get the rubber soft so it can form after the screen and channel. There are different types of rubber for different screens (i e laminated or hardened with different thicknesses). I dont believe in using seal compounds -use some non hardening and "greasy" compound instead. To install the shield, put the rubber in the channel first - then the screen.

I'm also interested.
When I repainted the car, the rear screen was removed and then reinstalled.
Now, in the left corner, when I wash the car or when it rains strongly water comes in.

I thenk the work will have to be done again.

Regards,
Gianluca.

Oggetto: [ROVERNET - UK] P6 rear screen seal replacement

Hi all.

Can anyone shed some light on the best procedure to install a new rear screen seal? I made a complete mess out of the job tonight, as the seal would not slide into the channel once the windshield was bedded in adhesive in it. I tried working the seal into the channel away from the glass, but that didn't work either. Then of course the adhesive started to set and that was that. A most frustrating effort.
Tomorrow I'll try to clean the remaining adhesive off the window and seal and give it another try. That is, if I get some good advice!

Thanks,

Peter
