Hi
The Blue Train Rover story is on page 95 of George Oliver's book " The Rover , published by Cassells in 1971 ISBN 0 304 93817 3
As a publicity stunt a tuned Rover light 6 was driven 750 miles across France from St Raphael to Calais in 20 hrs in January
1930 , beating the Blue Train by 20 minutes. There's a picture of the car , a two door sedan with a Weyman body , cycle front wings,
a small step board and narrow set hreadlights in the book . The Autocar magazine described the car as " unusual to the point of
being startling " I saw the car at Gaydon and would simply call it pig ugly .
Oliver's book is a detailed history of the Rover Co up to late 1970 . It is long out of print but turns up occasionally on ABE,com
, a specialised internet book site or E Bay
The Bentley Blue train car was for sale several years ago at an astronomical price . It was advertised in The Automobile magazine
for months
Cheers
 Patrick
