[ROVERNET - UK] RE: rovernet Digest, Vol 52, Issue 28

Hi all,

I thought that the 3500S NADA was only fitted with the look a like Rostyle
hubcaps and the stud size is different. Perhaps I am mistaken but I have
never seen a 3500S without the cheesy hubcaps that was considered stock.

However I have seen SD1 wheels fitted quite often

Glen, Kent and others please correct me if I am wrong

Dirk

I have ordered a set of new rear bottom links for my 3500S..........They
look to be breaking up so i figured while i'm doing the calipers and top
links i may as well tackle this one too..........However now looking i think

i jumped the gun............i though i would just lower the link at the hub
and put them in without removing the whole bottom link and doing it on the
bench...........will it be possible to press them into the bottom link
without removal and what do you suggest to press them in with.............Or

should i just wait and get all new bushings and do it out of the
car.............rear calipers look nicely painted and are going back in
tomorrow........

Thanks
Bill Robertson

You will have to remove the arms and do it on the bench, the old
bushings often to have the rubber burned out and the outer shell
collapsed to remove them, as they kind of rust in place over the
years.

I have only done the job a couple of times, and used a huge bench
vise to do the job. A hydraulic press would be best though.

Vern

Ah, P6 wheels, again.

I thought the Magstars didn't fit the NADA 3500S...

Stop it, Glen! You know very well it's the Magnum 500's
that won't fit the 3500S. You're just trying to get us
all stirred up about wheels again:-)

Kent K.
