[ROVERNET - UK] SD1 Front Suspension Renewal - Spring Compressors / Anti-Roll Bar

Dear Rovernetters,

While renewing the front suspension of my SD1, several questions/issues arose:
- When I measured the length of the damper piston, the offset of the spring on the strut and the length of the spring compressors I bought in the UK. The issue is that I am missing about 5 cm = 2" on the spring compressor length. Do I have to get another pair of spring compressors for compressing the rest of the spring until I get the correct length to mount the damper? Any hint?
- When I unscrewed the anti-roll bar from the lower track arm (lower link), the torque I measured was about half (50 Nm = 38 lb ft) of the recommended one (Rover / Haynes: 95 Nm = 71 lb ft). Was this too loose or is 96 Nm really too much for the rubber (now, polyurethane-replacement) bushes just behind the nut and dished washer at the track arm end of the anti-roll bar?
- Is there any way of "L/R-centering" the anti-roll bar when refitting the latter or isn't this really so critical?

Thank you a lot for your help.
Best regards,
Pierre.
