Trevor

Thanks; I will try the Heritage Centre. Since I live in California,
information is no longer available from the Dept. of Motor Vehicles here.
But the build history and shipping information would be a great start.

Tom,

If you and the car are located in the UK, a list of previous "registered
keepers" can be obtained via the DVLA at Swansea, on payment of a small
fee.

The Heritage Centre at Gaydon keeps records of the build data and shipping
logs of many Rover & ex BMC factorys, and can provide these in the form of
a "Production Record Trace Certificate" which includes (where known) the
original dealer to whom the car was delivered. These records would also
include cars destined for export from the UK.

Details of how to apply for these traces can be obtained from the
appropriate web sites, the DVLA is at:
http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/relinfo.htm

and the Heritage Centre is at
http://www.heritage.org.uk/archive/heritage+certificate/default.htm

regards

Trevor Colebrook
