Back in 2004 I had a little email correspondence with L. Iveson, owner of a P6
3500 Series One and a P6 2000 auto.

Unfortunately his email address (of 2004) doesn?t work anymore.

Is Mr. Iveson known?

Hi all, I've sold my Rover and it just got picked up. I have some P188 Baldwin filters left over, Anyone want to buy them from me? Don't know how much, as shipping will add to the costs and may become more than you can get elsewhere. Thanks and let me know if I'm out of line on this. I may have some bits and bobs left over. I think I may have a later P5 differential from and automatic that I was going to install since the a/t has a numerically lower so better freeway capability. Forgot how much I paid for it. Chris?
?
roland, hoping you don't throw me out of the Rovernet.

Folks

I'm about to embark on my third intercontinental move in thirteen years (NZ-UK, UK to US and now back to NZ)

I have two 1970 Federal 3500s near San Diego, Given the cost of shipping a container load of cars and parts, I'm seriously doubting the wisdom of taking either of these with us given the apparent market value of Rovers in NZ. I can perhaps take one but not both. Both cars are partially apart as parts were getting get transferred from one to the other.

The better car has A/C decent panels, a Toyota close ratio five speed conversion, an Edelbrock four barrel and some very bling wheels. It has a rubbish interior and needs electrical and a/c work. Engine has had work done, but has an oil leak at the front seal

The parts car is original has decent seats, a pretty solid base unit (couple of small holes in the boot area) and the panels need "some" (ahem) work - they are off the car at the moment. Engein and transmission need to be stripped and rebuilt

There is a pretty good selection of parts. I have titles for both cars

If someone wants to make a sensible offer there are some conditions

 - If you take the "good" car you must take the other one as part of the deal - bring a big trailer and if two trips are needed you take the parts car first.
 - I'll sell the parts car separately
 - We live at the top of a steep hill so loading will be a challenge
 - You need to move both of them before the end of September

Aidrian

If it's an Australian P6 then it was probably built in New Zealand. The New Zealand P6s were offered in a number of colours not available on the European models (my favourite is the British Racing Green). One of the Brisbane club members (Peter Fama) has compiled a list of all of those colours I believe?

Subject: [Rovernet ] P5 Fuel Pump and Workshop Manual
Message-ID: <ximss-1451935@rymes.net>

Well, the P5 has landed, and she needs a lot of love, I overpaid, and it's
been a longer wait than I intended, but still a fun ride. There was P5 up in
Stowe in our class this weekend, which provided a nice incentive to get
cracking, too.

Does anyone have a proper SU fuel pump for the P5 3-Litre that they would be
willing to part with? Mine has been downgraded with modern Rotary vane
pumps, with which I have generally had good luck, but are quite loud. I also
just like the "Tick, Tick, Tick" of the SU when turning the key, and tend to
be a fan of originality...

Lastly, I asked about a Workshop Manual earlier and received a few replies,
but later contact via e-mail has failed, perhaps due to spam filters or the

Tom.........I for one responded to your request but never heard back.? I have 2 sets: 1 is for an earlier car consisting of a manual and a parts book,? pages quit clean, cover somewhat worn. The second set is in the original Rover shipping sleeves and are virtually mint, also consisting of the 2 volumes parts and manual.? Let me know if these might be of interest to you (or anyone else for that matter).
Cheerio.? Bo Danenberger, Danvers, Illinois

Well, the P5 has landed, and she needs a lot of love, I overpaid, and it's been a longer wait than I intended, but still a fun ride. There was P5 up in Stowe in our class this weekend, which provided a nice incentive to get cracking, too.

Does anyone have a proper SU fuel pump for the P5 3-Litre that they would be willing to part with? Mine has been downgraded with modern Rotary vane pumps, with which I have generally had good luck, but are quite loud. I also just like the "Tick, Tick, Tick" of the SU when turning the key, and tend to be a fan of originality...

Lastly, I asked about a Workshop Manual earlier and received a few replies, but later contact via e-mail has failed, perhaps due to spam filters or the like. I have a P5 SU fuel pump or two which you can have for free. My P5 3 Litre now has a modern electric fuel pump (no clicking, really silent) which is quite reliable (unlike the SUs which need to be overhauled every few years because the points burn out). Anyway I am in Melbourne (Mount Waverley, VIC) so if this is near enough to you you can drop by and collect them. RU in Australia? Victoria?

Doh! Forgot to put my location in the post. You'd think after 17 years
or so of participating in these sorts of lists I would learn, but not so.

Alex: Thank you so much for your kind offer, but I am in the United
States, so postage might amke your pump the most expensive free pump

Hmm, the internet is so good. But yes, the postage would outweigh the free offer. The modern (peristaltic?) pumps are much more reliable.

The P-5 fuel pump is a double ended one, where each end operates separately. The secondary end is used as both a reserve fuel supply and a reserve pump. I rebuild these and convert them to solid state electronics, using and optical sensor system. There is a gent tin OZ that does them also. The cost to rebbuild aunit and concovert it would be right at $200 US. These pump are essentitiall the sam same as a a back to back MGB pump.If you can ship the cores from Auastrailia, It might be worth while.

Tom, I was able to order a pump for my P5. It still took some fettling toget it to fit and hook up though. I ordered the SU with electronics non polarity sensitive and with the classic tick-tick. About $180(?). I think.
?
roland, minus P5.

If I can find one that is comeing apart at the binding I will take it apart and scan it to PDF, then have it rebound at Kinkos or wherever.

Many thanks,

Morning to all again,

I am back in search of something that may be a tad hard to get, but here
goes.

I am re-installing the instrument panel on the P3 75. It was dissmantled
by other persons, and NO labelling took place, you got to love these people.

I do not have a readable wiring diagram. What I have is what looks like
a copy of a copy, and is about 1/2 the size of a A4 paper, and quite
blurry. I forget where I found it, but attempts to magnify it make it
worse. My eyes are way past good, but even younger persons eyes cannot
decipher what I really need.

Does anybody have a wiring schematis/diagram that is readable, that can
be scanned, that I can I obtain to save me starting from scratch and
following my nose of redoing the whole area. The wiring is in very good
condition, so my thoughts lean towards a loom replacement not all that
long ago, which is fantastic, but no help here.

Once again, thanks in advance.

Good Day Mates.

Mine gave out so I?pulled it. Where can I get a new/rebuilt one?

Then there is the hub assembly. I'd like to send it somewhere to have it removed and

refittted to the new one. Plus I should get a new lower radiator hose. Any suggestions?

Many thanks.

Subject: Potential Fraud A Warning

After a recent fraud was brought to my attention I have set up a
specific discussion point on our forum where any potential frauds can
be reported. My hope is that this will prevent others from being
caught out in future. A link to this is included at the bottom of
this e-mail.

Subject: [Rovernet ] Windshield seal replacement
Message-ID: <2DF4F03A-E23A-45DB-8E8A-0B927CC89B27@telusplanet.net>

I took my car to the local glass shop to get an estimate on replacing
the front windshield seal on my 2000 TC. The shop owner told me a new
seal will leak "even worse than the old one, and we will definitely
break the glass taking it out." He could not tell me why a new seal
would leak, Why they would break the glass, didn't want to listen to
any explanation of how the windshield is held in place, or look at my
workshop manual. They quoted $500.00 to do the job if "I really wanted
it done". I won't bring this guy any other business again!
Who has replaced their own windshield seals? It can't be as bad as
this numpty makes it out to be....
