[ROVERNET - UK] Headliner replacement

David,

I guess we're talking SD1, here?

What Kent described is exactly what I did, and it came out beautifully.
You can use the same material to do the inside C-pillars, which are
metal underneath. I went to the local auto upholstery shop, and they had
an almost perfect match for the odd honey/gold interior of my SD1. The
material itself was some sort of nylon that stretched a little bit in
both directions (if memory serves). There was a thin foam backing. It
all followed the contours beautifully and stayed up for the several
years that I had the car after that.

This was one of those fairly quick and easy jobs that make an enormous
difference in the appearance of the car. If you have the sunroof, it
may be somewhat trickier, I suppose.
