Sorry, they are lefty loosy

You will need a socket to get the job done, probably. BTW, you aren't 
meant to remove the small nut (because that is damaging to the 
O-rings), but rather you take the big nut off and remove the hinge 
pin from that side while holding the small nut with a wrench, then 
pushing the nut out.

The reality, of course, is it not the space shuttle so no worries.
