I have taken the levers out quite often with no problems; just make sure you make the shift quickly but not panicky. If need be put a piece thin dowel in the hole to prevent the pin dropping. Also it is fun to pull them apart and reassemble them, the first time is hell, the second to x to the n times isn't so bad. Regards Damien
