[ROVERNET - UK] Rover 2007 event comments

Hi all,

Thanks for all the comments regarding the 2007 Rover meet.
I am going to work on a proposed itinerary for the event and start to throw
out some dates for all to discuss.

I will talk to Stephen Beers and Steve Manwell about posting some kind of
page on the new web site to update all on the progress and plans.
As suggested I will try gather up an email list of Roverteers and keep you
updated that way as well.

However I would like comments on the following:

Number of days for the event? 1, 2, 3 ?????

Should we have a used parts flea market?
(I could provide space and unloading facilities for people wishing to send
Rover parts for sale can assist with low cost shipping too)

Should we consider tech sessions given all the knowledge people we have
within the Rover community and on this group? SD1, P6, P5 etc???

Rover car show awards by category? Judges by our Rover brethren?

Other events? Dinners? Dance? Evening events? Things for kids? Wives?

I would like to hear from anyone good bad or in different all comments are
welcome AND anyone who would like to take on a task or participate in anyway
is welcome.

I look forward to more comments
Dirk

Yes, it's pretty much impossible to keep the top 10 list to just 10, isn't
it - mine gets bigger each time I see a bargain-priced oddball that "just
needs minor restoration to get it back on the road" after thirty years
parked under a tree.

Well the preparation for my trip from Portland Oregon to Oklahoma continues!
Good news transmission was not bad, just bushings on selector. One set back
fuel tank leaks, shop can repair for $150. Any good used in that area?
Thanks Nick

Hi Nick,

Would this be any good for your tank. I came across it for a freind who's
rebuilding a motorbike.

John,

Thanks for your message. I couldn't get it into any gear but first,
even when the car wasn't running. Another clue...

Gordon.

(resent as I seem to be having difficulty posting notes to the list).

Hello fellow Rovernetters,

Just some additional brief words of support for the current format of this
group. While I (still) have not yet purchased another Rover here in the
USA, I appreciate the shared advice and enthusiasm from this group.

Dirk, if you are setting up an e-mail list regarding the 2007 meet in the
Northeastern USA or Eastern Canadian region, I would like to be added to the

list.

Best regards,
Dan Suter (Rochester, NY)

Dirk,

Your get-together idea sounds great. I am doubtful
that my car will be ready in time but I want to
attend for the food and camaraderie - and ROVER
things.

Thanks.
