Hi Lance,

Timken is of coarse still in business any reason you do not want to replace
your wheel bearings with the same ones? If for what ever reason you cannot
get them let me know and I will have our bearing supplier from work find
them for you.

As far as brake pads are concerned I am sure Ruth has them but if you come
up dry I am sure that I have an extra set. Is Ruth redoing your engine for
you?

Keep Rovering
Dirk

I would appreciate some help with cross referencing/local options:

Car: 1970 'Federal' P6B. I'm trying to find good quality replacement
front and rear wheel bearings. I've just taken the front bearings out.
The TIMKEN # for the inner (larger) bearing is LMj 67048, the is no # for
the outer (smaller bearing). Are the bearing in the rear wheels
different, if so, what numbers and cross referencing would I be using for
them?

Secondly, I need a set of front wheel brake pads---it would be nice if
they had the wiring for the dash warning light, but not required. Does
NAPA carry these?

Any help would be appreciated.

There was a landmark article in Freewheeling (the magazine of the New South
Wales Rover Owners' Club) which defined this condition.
Worth reading.

OOOPS!

The TIMKEN # for the front wheel bearings (large/inner bearing) should have
been LM67048. No 'j' should have been in there.

Thanks

hey 6000 for him, not me!
I have no doubt my Rover could make it; just a small matter of time and the
Pacific Ocean...

Hi Rovernetters

Here in Australia the federal government is introducing a subsidy of A$2,000
for LPG conversion of used cars, and this is in addition to an existing
state government subsidy of I belive, A$1,000.

A colleague of mine has a large V8 Ford Falcon and says that the LPG
conversion is the best thing he could have done as it has enable him to use
his car cheaply as a daily driver.

Can Rovernetters please offer their views on LPG conversion? What about
space issues? (I have a P6B).

Comments appreciated.

Regards

Peter Mitchell
