Glen,
Thank you for the advice it was right on target. The radiator was brought to
a professional and tested. They found it was severely clogged and
recommended recoring. It should be ready in a few days and I expect it to
solve the problem. I guess that 38 years of use took it toll.

Al,
I would recommend checking the radiator first. I had a 1967 TC that
overheated. Had the radiator professionally cleaned and rodded, and the
problem went away. Even if there is sludge in the engine, this may get you
into the normal range without further attention. It makes sense to do this
first before extra fans and so forth.
