[ROVERNET - UK] Bigger bore carburetters

Tom,
Bigger bore SU's on a standard engine are a
utterly useless solution.
The HIF 6 SU has ample flow capacity for
220 BHP so a bigger SU is useless.
The bottleneck is the standard inletmanifold.
A Holley or even better a Weber/Edelbrock on a
Offenhauser manifold gives an instant 15-25 BHP.
Regards,
Lex van Opstal.

Good evening altogether,
has anyone yet testdriven bigger bore SU carburetters (in comparison to
the standard 1 3/4") on his or her Rover V8 engine? If so, which ones?
HIF7s, HS8s? Which metering needles did you select?
Many regards,
Tom.
