Dear Paul,

The internals of the servos (boosters) are not the same on the 4 cylinder and 8 cylinder cars. Assuming you are dealing with cars with a single line brake system, the V8 cars have hydraulic cylinders with a 0.70" bore and the 4 cylinder cars (assuming you do not have a car with the early dunlop style servo) have cylinders with a 0.625" bore.

I believe however that George is in N. America, where the V8 cars all had a tandem servo, which although it also has a 0.70" bore is quite different from the one used on the 4 cylinder cars.

Regards,

Pierre Janusz
