[ROVERNET - UK] Ignition timing on the 3500S (Federal)

Following up on this subject, I found the original label for this car
in my clutter, with the factory settings for timing stated at 8 degrees
AFTER TDC, running at 725-775 rpm idle. I had begun with a setting of
10 degrees BTDC, but experienced lack of power at high speed and stall
at low idle. At 8 degrees ATDC, the car leaps off the block and has
excellent acceleration at high speed. I also discovered the flame traps
were completely blocked, and changing them along with the crankcase
breather filter resulted in a much smoother low idle.

I didn't find a mention of this setting of 8 degrees ATDC anywhere in
the manual for cars with emissions control and AC (although my AC was
removed), but this definitely feels like the correct setting.
