Eric,

I actually have a total of seven British cars, so am quite familiar with
calibrated oil leaks. The 1968 Rover 2000 TC is not spouting oil out the
front, there is just an oil buildup there that if it were mine I would
correct. I am reasonably picky. I would not hesitate to buy this car, it is
just I have too many and do not seem to be working my way through then very
quickly. Too many other time consuming priorities in my life. I could stay
very busy using just the two drivable MG's. I do want to shed a few vehicles
and get a few of the others on the road. Particularly the 64 P-5 (brakes,
power steering) and the 60 Metropolitan (hole in #2 piston). Then comes the
more difficult ones, a 1971 MGBGT (reinstall the dash, change out both axle
assemblies to convert it to wire wheels), a 1967 MGB (basket case - needs
everything - engine machine work is done) and a 1968 MG Midget that needs a
transmission change, plus several other things. And finally I need to
complete my Gazelle kit car - 1982, I am ashamed to say. I know now that it
is far better to buy a basket case sports car rather than a kit car.

Back to the 1968 Rover 2000 TC. It really is a solid car, if the paint were
better, I would have been sorely tempted. I just went through stripping and
repainting the 74 MGB. Still reassembling it. The cost of paint has really
gone out of sight. The body on the 68 Rover is very solid and the paint not
back except for the cracking on the hood and trunk lid. It definitely should
be rescued and used. The original owner was an elderly gent, who really did
not drive it much over the last 12-15 years. It was always garaged and
reflects it. I believe the 79,000 miles are true and everything works! Gee
you are down to one now and this is only about 300 miles away, Eric??? Come
on down, we have a guest room waiting!

Slats
