Yes indeed.
Anyway i am sorry i cause a bit of confusion i meant the suspension springs 
and not the valve springs.
I have done the remove the gurad and used conventional spring compressors. 
Just i found it a bit fiddley and i did not feel confident (the thought of a 
spring compressor slipping off is one of nightmares). The 'real' compressors 
might give more a feel of confidence and as in the land of OZ we dont salt 
the roads the cup  tend to be in ok state
