Hi Ray,
  I concur with Anders.  In a pressurised system, such as the SD1, you
need a flat bypass cap on the radiator and a pressure cap on the
expansion tank.  In an unpressurised system you need a pressure recovery
cap (pressure spring plus extra rubber under the cap so it seals enough
to suck the coolant back) and a suitable container.  I've used glass
juice bottles but recovery tank from a similar sized car looks neater.
