[ROVERNET - UK] OT Volvo

My wife has a Volvo 240 (mine is a 1960 Rover P5 3 litre manual) and we
have been running it (the Volvo)on unleaded for some time. My local
Volvo specialist assures me that the Volvo valves and seats are hardened
sufficiently and that valve seat recession is not likely to be a problem
for years. It does need premium unleaded though - pings a lot with
regular because of the compression ratio

Subject: [ROVERNET - UK] OT Volvo

I know that this is very off topic but a friend has just been given a
1983 Volvo 240 (Australian) and as Lead replacement Petrol is even been
phased out in Oz, he was wondering if anyone knows if it can be run on
ULP without the need for valve lubricant.

Thanks for any help in this area
