Eric,
If we leave aside Rover, I believe that the largest
volume U.K. owned vehicle producer is LTI, the taxi
maker, after them TVR. Not exactly world players!!! At
the end of the day though it's jobs that count, and
there are thousands in my native West Midlands
dependant upon Longbridge, Solihull, and the Jaguar
plants. Browns Lane looks doomed, when will Castle
Bromwich close?

To your other point Eric, Does China have no iron
reserves?
