Ron ...........there are actually 2 different Rover rostyles, also the 
Magnum 500 wheel and the Magstar...........The difference in the rostyle is 
the backspacing and the dish of the wheel.......The Magnum 500 had a 
slightly smaller bolt circle but bigger bolt holes and needs the special 
hubs..(Americanized since it was made by Kelsey Hayes )...You obviously have 
the rostyle one which fits the straight top link with little 
interference.........This probably didn,t present a problem back then when 
the tire that came with the car was a 165/14.......which is equivalent to 
the 165/75/14 tire which is no longer sold readily at stores...........I 
drive the car hard like a sports car and will be using it on track days so i 
  want at least a 185/70/14 tire............I could get more rubber on say a 
minilite but i want the stock wheel thus retaining stock appearance and on a 
5.5inch wheel that is about it............Hope this helps

An aside............Today took the P3 out for a romp, for the first time 
since rebuilding the frontend,  and ARRRRRRRRG......4th gear has 
disappeared, becoming another neutral.............Are the stars not 
alignment or am i just cursed lately.........LOL..............Oh the life of 
a Rover owner
